Olympic Torch Celebrations

6 Jun

Olympic fever is building in Kilbowie Primary School as we get ready for the visit of the Games’ Olympic Torch to the Clydebank this Saturday 9th June.  Inspired by the journey of the Olympic flame, we designed our own torches, flags and hats for the arrival of one of the specially designed Olympic torches which Clydebank High will be relaying through every one of their feeder primary schools.  The Clydebank High torch opened our Sport’s Day race. Pupils, ex-pupils, parents and teachers all took part despite the rainy weather. Well done to everyone who helped make it a fantastic event.

Be sure not to miss the real Olympic torch passing through Clydebank at 8.42am, this Saturday. Starting at Hardgate’s Glasgow Road and travelling by foot down to the Kilbowie Roundabout, a large vehicle convoy will then move the flame to Drumry Road, before torchbearers carry it along Drumry Road and Kilbowie Road. Olympic floats with music and performers will add to the occasion.
